1. How did you get into Muay Thai?

In the early 2000’s I had received my black belt in Tae Kwon Do. After my class every day a small group of students would come with funny looking shorts on. I had tried other classes that my Doo Chang (school) taught including Tai Chi. So I decided to try this one as well. Did some drills, got punched in the face and fell in love with Thai Boxing.

2. What inspired you to start training and coaching?

Inspiration for training came from growing up in the 70’s/80’s/90’s. Bruce Lee, David Caradine, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan. The Karate Kid. Coaching was thrust upon me as it is all students at some time or another.

3. How long have you been training?

I have over 20 years training and coaching Muay Thai combined.

4. Who are some of your biggest influences in Muay Thai or combat sports?

Early influences would be Kazushi Sakaraba, Bas Rutten, Ramon Dekkers, Bukaw to name a few.

5. What’s your favorite part about coaching?

Without a doubt learning. Students think to ask questions that I haven’t thought of before. That and watching the raw potential we ALL have focus and chisel a person into who they always were underneath.
